Kioshi Gen-2.1 combines advanced optical key sensing with a mechanical mute rail to give an acoustic piano powerful digital capabilities. When the mute mechanism is engaged, the piano's hammers are stopped just before they strike the strings, allowing the pianist to hear the performance privately through headphones while continuing to play the piano's original acoustic action.
The latest Gen-2.1 system features upgraded processing technology, improved LED sensor technology, and enhanced pedal sensing for faster response and more accurate playing detection. The new sensor design is also designed to accommodate even shallow keybeds and eliminates the need for reflective stickers used by earlier systems.
Beyond silent practice, Kioshi offers 129 instrument sounds, including acoustic and electric pianos, organs, strings, guitars, brass, synthesizers, percussion, and other sounds. Adjustable reverb provides additional ambience and depth.
Kioshi also makes the acoustic piano compatible with today's digital music environment. Bluetooth MIDI allows wireless connection to smartphones and tablets for use with piano-learning applications such as Skoove, Anytune, Roland, and Flowkey. USB-C MIDI provides a wired connection to computers and digital audio workstations.
A built-in recording function allows performances to be recorded and played back through the headphones. Two headphone outputs make it possible for two people to listen simultaneously—ideal for lessons, practice, or playing together.
